The most sincere speech i've ever heard...

09 Dec 2007, Sunday

Went for my cousin's wedding dinner last night at The Grand Ballroom at The Pines last night. There, i heard some of the most sincere and touching speeches of my life.

About this cousin of mine, he's probably one of the very very few ppl that i really look up to in my life!! He doesn't come from a really well-to-do family... but he's much much more well brought up than most ppl. Now that i come to think of it, he's probably the prince that all gals dream of meeting... Good looking, well educated and great at sports (violinist and once national representive and 1st for triple jump!!), and more importantly to me (and many others), he truly is the most sincere person i've ever met in my life!

One of the speeches came from a student of his, who spoke briefly of how "Mr. Ho" (my cousin) was the best listener in the world, of how that was all that mattered to him when he was feeling lost and depressed in that phase of his life, and how my cousin helped him discover his talent (That student can sing so well!!! He gave a really nice strum-and-sing performance... definitely a future superstar!!). There and then i couldn't help thinking... what wouldn't i give to have met someone like this during that phase of my life...?

All teachers, lecturers, even school or CCA seniors... Pls bear in mind how much influence you have on other people's life for everything you say or do to them!! It's really a responsibility each and eveyone of us should be aware of alright? :) Many kids are not bad... They just don't know how to, or don't trust you enough yet to open themselves up to you, as was the case during my sec sch. days ... ;) Responsibility is the key word... Remember that you shape other people's lifes and in that sense, the world too!!

Back to the most sincere speech tat i heard, it's nothing much actually... My cousin was talking about the way he was brought up, some of the little things which he appreciated his parents did, and how they helped make him the man he is today. But it was his sincerity in the tone of his speech which touched me most. Words can't really describe tat feeling... Though i'm not Christian, the following words were the ones which touched me most ...

(translated from chinese)
"Today i'm really really happy, because on my wedding day, i finally managed to get papa, mama, to go for (church) service... i really hope to see you 2 there more often, i hope you will know, jesus loves u 2, i love u 2 too"

Don't know what u all think of it... Did you all realise? These words he said, is the greatest and most sincere show of love and filial piety i've ever heard of in words. Because to Christians... If you believe in and embrace god, you go to heaven instead of hell.

To end... Just clarify abit with no offence... I'm not Christian and i'm not trying to promote tat too ok!! Hahaa :p
