Happy X'mas!! ;)

26 Dec 2007, Wednesday

Had a really Happy X'mas this year! ;)

Original Plan for X'mas Eve:
0800 - 1300hrs - Work
1300 - 1400hrs - wash up, prepare to go out
1400 - 1900hrs - shop for gifts
1900 - 2100hrs - meet NPS fellas
2100 - Morning - play mahjong wif Kuang's colleagues
Christmas day - Sentosa with NPS fellas

Didn't quite turn out the way i'd planned at all!!

Worked half day on X'mas Eve... supposedly should be quite a relaxing day at work, but who knows, some auditors decided to come visiting our section on this day, so was actually quite a nervous morning~ Great that everything turned out well though!

After work, rushed home... Was still feeling tired from last weekend's "2 day Mahjong tour" at sheena's, so ended up succumbing to the temptation of having a short nap instead of going for some last min X'mas shopping to get some pressies for the guys/gals. Arghhh~~~ Didn't get anything for them... *guilty*. I got some nice pressies from some really sweet people this month!! For my birthday and for X'mas, great haul~!! *feeling more guilty*

After napping for about 2 hrs, i dragged myself out of bed, had a gooood looooong bath, then set off to meet NPS fellas for dinner. To which i found out, they'd changed plans! So instead of having dinner first, we went to Settler's Cafe directly... Arghhh~~~ Hungry man = X'mas eve Heng!! The only things i'd eaten for tat day... nasi lemak for breakfast followed by the little things served at Settler's. No more... Thinking of it makes me hungry now!! (Grabs Cheese Steak burger bought earlier on at Subway *munch* Yummy~)

At Settlers, we played a few games before i decided to intro them a game called "Citadels". I have this game at home!! Bought it after coming across it months ago... Really nice game and they all loved it too!! And i can never forget the round where sheena Licong and me got fed up with the "King" and sent out threats to anyone who dared to choose the character for the next round... Laughed like hell when everyone didn't dare to choose the character after tat!!! Muahaha :p Ended up we all decided to go home grab our stuff to meet up at Sheena's home for further gaming and before going to Sentosa together to meet the rest next morning, Haha!! :p

Nothing much to mention for the rest of the night... Gaming all the way la! :) Budden there goes my X'mas Eve Mahjong too~ Hahaa :p And NPS girls are all sweet~ They all made stuff like cookies muffins and cakes for us to eat. But one thing i really wanna mention.... I am in love with Esther's Tiramisu Cake!!!!! She brought some which she'd made, and WAH WOW OOOOO~ it was so nice... Too bad there wasn't much of it to eat!! Esther had to stop me from finishing it up before the others had a chance to taste it lor~ Muahaha :p Was really impressed!! Hmm~ Girls, u all should listen to this, I Think, one of the best ways to a guy's heart is ... through his stomach!! ^^

*Thinks longingly of Tiramisu cake* ...... sigh~~~~
**Munches on Cheese Steak Burger again**
Yummy~~~

Next thing that shouldn't be missed.... Sheena's Corn bread dance!! At one point of the game, we were happily eating Corn Bread and we were high for watever reasons we don't know. We sang and did some hand-dancing with the corn bread, asking people whether they wanted to have one too? Hahahaa~ So fun!!!

X'mas day

0600+ Finished playing "Citadels"... Cleared up everything before some of us went to sleep while the rest of us sat down to chat, view some photos, etc. I stayed up till 8+ then slept for a while till 9++... Sheena and Esther didn't sleep all the way!! Very lihai lor the 2 of them chat then no need to sleep le, Hahaa :p Played and amused ourselves with one of Sheena's presents - a cowy bank which goes mooooooo~ moooooooo~ each time someone drops a coin in, cute huh!! Esther was also really cute, after all the moo-ing when sheena kept the cowy bank back to it's box where only the nose was visible, she still kept looking at the cow's nose with much interest, hahaa~!! Funny~ Finally washed up and set off for sentosa at close to 10am. Met the rest of the NPS fellas for lunch and took the skytrain to Sentosa.

Noon
WAH LAU the Sun kept avoiding us on this day, upon reaching Sentosa, it started raining... And so we decided to go to the underwater world first. I wasn't really interested cos doesn't feels like a long time since i last went there, and the memories are still quite vivid... Hahaa...

Next, we went to the beach - wasn't raining anymore but not enough sunlight for suntan either. Most of us decided to fore-go the dolphin lagoon trip... Played beach soccer with the rest of the guys while the girls played Citadels again... and later had fun taking silly photos and videos with Kuang Qimei Liting and Hongzhi... "Lover's reunion", "Kungfu kids", "mahjong legend" Hahaa!!! I anyhow name them de la, but basically that's wat we took for videos~ Thinking back about it... Funny~!!

Evening
Went to wash up at about 7pm and set off to vivo city for dinner. Can't rememeber the name of the fast food restaurant we went to... it has something to do with hotdogs... Hmm~ Nvm, haha :p Chatted and ate till 9+ before we all set off for home... Longing for my bed so much!!! Soooo tired! i slept till morning without waking up a single time at night!!! :)

This X'mas must really give Special thanks to Liting Peiyu Sheena Dejun and Esther!! :) Very Happy with and grateful for all ur little pressies & cards & food & hosting & organising of the whole thing!! Thanks to everyone else too for the fun and company!! Really really enjoyed myself and happy to meet u all!!! ;) So Thanks!!!!

Happy New Year to all ya!!!!!

The most sincere speech i've ever heard...

09 Dec 2007, Sunday

Went for my cousin's wedding dinner last night at The Grand Ballroom at The Pines last night. There, i heard some of the most sincere and touching speeches of my life.

About this cousin of mine, he's probably one of the very very few ppl that i really look up to in my life!! He doesn't come from a really well-to-do family... but he's much much more well brought up than most ppl. Now that i come to think of it, he's probably the prince that all gals dream of meeting... Good looking, well educated and great at sports (violinist and once national representive and 1st for triple jump!!), and more importantly to me (and many others), he truly is the most sincere person i've ever met in my life!

One of the speeches came from a student of his, who spoke briefly of how "Mr. Ho" (my cousin) was the best listener in the world, of how that was all that mattered to him when he was feeling lost and depressed in that phase of his life, and how my cousin helped him discover his talent (That student can sing so well!!! He gave a really nice strum-and-sing performance... definitely a future superstar!!). There and then i couldn't help thinking... what wouldn't i give to have met someone like this during that phase of my life...?

All teachers, lecturers, even school or CCA seniors... Pls bear in mind how much influence you have on other people's life for everything you say or do to them!! It's really a responsibility each and eveyone of us should be aware of alright? :) Many kids are not bad... They just don't know how to, or don't trust you enough yet to open themselves up to you, as was the case during my sec sch. days ... ;) Responsibility is the key word... Remember that you shape other people's lifes and in that sense, the world too!!

Back to the most sincere speech tat i heard, it's nothing much actually... My cousin was talking about the way he was brought up, some of the little things which he appreciated his parents did, and how they helped make him the man he is today. But it was his sincerity in the tone of his speech which touched me most. Words can't really describe tat feeling... Though i'm not Christian, the following words were the ones which touched me most ...

(translated from chinese)
"Today i'm really really happy, because on my wedding day, i finally managed to get papa, mama, to go for (church) service... i really hope to see you 2 there more often, i hope you will know, jesus loves u 2, i love u 2 too"

Don't know what u all think of it... Did you all realise? These words he said, is the greatest and most sincere show of love and filial piety i've ever heard of in words. Because to Christians... If you believe in and embrace god, you go to heaven instead of hell.

To end... Just clarify abit with no offence... I'm not Christian and i'm not trying to promote tat too ok!! Hahaa :p
